Aftermarket Assassins '20+ Can-Am Defender HD10 Heavy Duty Primary & Secondary S4 Clutch Kit

- This S4 kit is a complete clutch set up for your Defender HD10 and includes: AA primary clutch with metal rollers (OEM are plastic) and metal sliders (OEM has none), 6 AA Recoil magnetic adjustable hardened clutch weights (OEM weights are soft which is why they use a plastic roller), AA primary spring, AA replacement primary bolt, OEM secondary clutch with AA adjustable helix, AA HD rollers, helix adjustment tool & setup guideline. We will highlight the weight and helix setup that we used on your setup guide.
- Primary and secondary clutch will come assembled if you let us know your tire size and modifications. Not every vehicle is the same, so even if having us professionally set the clutch up, some adjustment may be needed. Always make sure to check peak RPM after installation.
- From trail rigs to high horsepower setups, this is the clutch setup we run on our shop vehicles. In dyno and field testing, we found the 6 arm clutch is much more efficient in power transfer over a 3 arm/P-Drive clutch.
- This primary clutch is an upgrade as it has metal sliders which help longevity and have less drag. These sliders came standard on the turbo X3 172HP and 195HP models.
- HD primary clutch uses hardened rollers and our hardened weights for better clutch longevity, and better operation. This is an upgrade from the OEM design that uses plastic hex "rollers" and soft metal weights.
- Our Defender S4 clutch kits pack a huge punch! No matter the terrain, they hit hard and just keep pulling for days. On the farm, trail or even at the race you'll notice excellent belt grip, power transfer, wicked acceleration and instant clutch response when getting back into the throttle after hammering that corner. In the dunes you'll see the same benefits, but also have much less bogging when climbing that big dune. The machine will hold RPM so you can get where you need to go, and get there faster! Going mudding? Our mud setup will help turn those tires through the thick and deep with much better RPM and wheel speed that's key to climbing out of that hole. Are you a rock crawler? Our smooth engagement and precise feel down low will give you the confidence to tackle any obstacle. We have a huge amount of CVT knowledge, a great passion for the sport, and spent many hours testing different setups in the real world. - With our clutches you'll notice better power transfer (better acceleration) and lower belt temps than your OEM clutch or other aftermarket clutches.
- The factory clutches these heavy, making them ramp up RPM slowly. Once you ride a properly clutched Defender that ramps up RPM quickly, you'll see the major difference. This comes into play if you are running heavier tires, riding dunes, or tune your Defender. Allowing RPM to ramp up quickly is a massive difference and if your tunes are built like ours, they love to rev higher and that makes them accelerate much faster.
- Our custom cut AA 1050 fully adjustable helix in this kit is a game changer! We have been using this quick click secondary design on many other vehicles since 2008, and have now adapted to the Defender platform. This helix angle is much better for acceleration as it allows RPM to ramp up quicker out of the gate, then load the motor hard up top for wicked acceleration. The best part about this helix is the ability to adjust your spring tension. This easily allows you to dial in RPM with the secondary clutch which is much easier than adjusting the primary.
- Our setup guideline will let you know how to set your weights for stock horsepower or tuned, 27" - 35" tires, 28-32" paddle tires, different altitudes & more. If running higher HP such as an aftermarket turbo kit, let us know.
- When adding larger tires or more vehicle weight, the Defender loses peak RPM and acceleration suffers. Even stock they only turn 5500-6000 RPM peak. We really like to see them at or just over 6000 RPM with the OEM tune. However, we HIGHLY suggest our tuning for the Defender when clutching as you can dial it in for 6400-6700 RPM and the vehicle really comes to life. The combination of tuning and clutching is hands down the way to go. If you have another company's tuning, our kit should still work well at that RPM as long as they did their job.
- Primary weights are adjustable from 50 to 64 grams. Weights have more tip weight and act heavier. This means they also accelerate and up shift much harder.
- Cooler running belt temps from a more efficient power transfer which results in longer belt and clutch life. With this kit and our Stryker belts (GBoost belt) we have ran thousands of hard miles in the dunes & trails at higher horsepower with ZERO belt failures.

- Our Recoil clutch weights are easily adjustable with simple magnets. They have a custom AA profile, the BEST coating on the market (nitrocarburizing) which has increased wear resistance, improved fatigue strength, and added surface lubricity. These clutch weights also offer great performance, and the ability to tune for many different applications or modification in the future, without the need to buy extra parts. The magnetic weights are the best option to properly place the mass where we need it on the weight for best performance for your application.
- Primary Clutch Puller: This is needed to remove your OEM primary clutch. If you/your shop does not have this tool, you'll need to purchase it.
- Weight adjustment tool set: This tool set makes it easy to spread the clutch to access the weights.
