UTV Rack and Pinion

Heavy Duty Steering Racks for Every UTV

Stock steering wears out fast when you push your side-by-side hard. The factory rack loosens up, steering gets sloppy, and every bump in the trail feels worse than it should. Our UTV rack and pinion kits fix that with stronger housings, tighter tolerances, and hardware built to outlast the OEM setup.

We carry rack and pinion kits for Polaris RZR, Ranger, and General models, along with Can-Am Commander and Defender platforms. Most kits pair the upgraded rack with matching tie rod ends, so you get a complete steering upgrade instead of a single weak link in an otherwise stock system. Whether you run big tires, a lift kit, or just rack up trail miles every weekend, a heavy-duty steering rack protects the rest of your steering system from premature wear. If a lift makes the wheel heavy, power steering kits reduce the effort on top of a tighter rack.

FAQ

How do I know if my UTV needs a new rack and pinion?

Loose or sloppy steering, clunking noises when you turn, or uneven tire wear usually point to a worn rack and pinion. If your side-by-side wanders on the trail or the steering wheel has extra play, it's worth inspecting the rack.

What's the difference between OEM and aftermarket steering racks?

OEM racks are built to factory specs that wear out under hard use. Aftermarket UTV rack-and-pinion kits use thicker housings and upgraded bushings to handle larger tires and rougher terrain without loosening as quickly.

Do I need to replace my tie rod ends when I upgrade the rack?

Not always, but many riders replace tie rod ends at the same time since they wear on a similar schedule. Several of our steering rack kits include matching tie rod ends built to the same durability standard.

Will a new rack and pinion work with my lift kit?

Most of our Polaris and Can-Am rack-and-pinion kits are designed for common lift heights, and some brands offer specific tie rod options for larger lifts. Check the fitment details on each product page before you order.

Can I install a UTV steering rack myself?

Most kits come with the hardware needed for a straightforward install and can be done with common hand tools. If you're not comfortable with steering work, a local UTV shop can install it for you.

Does upgrading my steering rack improve performance?

A tighter, upgraded rack and pinion gives you more responsive, predictable steering, especially at speed or on rough terrain. It won't add horsepower, but it makes the power you have easier to put down accurately.
