Dalton Industries '20-'23 Polaris General XP/XP4 Clutch Kits

The 2020 General XP models have some differences compared to the regular General. They have larger tires, different final drive ratios, and different clutching. Unlike the regular General, the XP model doesn't have EBS engine braking from the factory. Instead, it uses the same belt as the RZR1000 XP.

The factory clutch calibration on the XP model needed improvement, so adjustments were made to the rate of shift. This addressed problems like the belt hitting the outer cover shroud during deceleration and poor back shifting of the belt on soft terrain or hills.

To solve these issues, a special clutch kit was developed for the General XP models. It includes new springs and a helix and offers several benefits. It has a slight amount of EBS at low speeds, similar engagement rpm to stock, and adjustability for different tire sizes and situations. The kit improves belt grip, response, and back shifting, resulting in less slippage, heat, and longer belt life.

The clutch kit has hardened billet steel flyweights with high-quality bushings and durable thrust washers. The flyweights can be adjusted using the Dalton "Quick Adjust" method for fine-tuning, even without removing them from the clutch. The instruction manual provides guidance for different setups. However, tire weight, size, and terrain type can introduce some variability. The advantage of this kit is its easy adjustability to accommodate these variations.
