Dalton Industries '20-'23 Polaris General XP/XP4 Clutch Kits

The 2020 General XP model comes with larger tires, different final drive ratios, and different clutching from the regular General. It does not have EBS engine braking from the factory and uses the same belt as the RZR1000 XP.

To improve the performance of the stock clutching, we have developed a clutch kit specifically for this application. The kit includes a different secondary spring than the one used in the smaller tire kit.

With the factory clutching, we observed issues such as the belt slapping the outer cover shroud during deceleration and poor back shifting of the belt when the vehicle encountered soft terrain or hills.

Our clutch kit addresses these problems by offering adjustability for different tire sizes and situations. It provides a slight amount of EBS at low speeds, similar to the factory engine braking on older versions, and engagement rpm similar to stock. The kit also improves belt grip, response, and overall back shifting of the belt, leading to reduced slippage, heat generation, and improved belt life.

The kit features hardened billet steel flyweights with high-quality bushings and durable thrust washers to ensure smooth pivoting motion and enhance clutch durability. The Dalton "Quick Adjust" method allows for easy fine-tuning of the flyweight's mass without removing it from the clutch, making adjustments convenient for specific instances such as different tire sizes or trips to higher elevations.

The instruction manual provided with the kit guides users on setting up the clutch for each tire size and situation. However, due to variations in tire weight, size, and terrain types, there may be some variance in the setup. The benefit of our kit is its easy adjustability to accommodate these variations.
