A beadlock wheel uses a clamping ring to secure the outer tire bead to the wheel rim. This lets you run much lower air pressure on rocks, sand, and loose terrain without risking tire slip or separation. Standard wheels rely on air pressure alone to hold the bead in place, which works fine for most trail riding but has limits when you air way down.
