UTV Towing Parts

UTV towing covers two different jobs, and this collection carries parts for both. On the hitch side, you get receiver hitches, adjustable drop hitches, hitch pins, and truck-mounted receiver systems for pulling a trailer behind your machine. Rhino USA adjustable drop hitches come in 2" and 2.5" receiver sizes, and the Kolpin Lock-It Rite receiver system mounts a hitch to your truck for loading and moving the UTV around. Check your machine's rated towing capacity and receiver size before you order. A Ranger or Defender built for work pulls a very different load than a sport rig, so match the trailer to the machine rather than the other way around.

The other half of UTV towing is recovery and transport. Tow ropes and recovery straps get a buried machine out of mud, sand, or a washed-out rut, and we stock kinetic rope from Bubba Rope along with weavable recovery straps, soft ties, and protective sleeves from SpeedStrap. Hauling the UTV home takes different gear. Tire bonnet kits wrap over the tire and anchor the machine to the trailer deck without loading the suspension, while ratchet straps and Y-straps from DRT Motorsports and Elektric Offroad handle frame tie-down points. Strap sizes run from 1" for lighter loads up to 2" x 10' retractable ratchet straps for full-size machines. Trailer coupler locks and tie-down accessories round out the setup.

FAQ

What do I need to start towing with a UTV?

At minimum, a hitch that fits your machine's receiver and a trailer rated for the load you're pulling. Most riders add a tow strap or recovery rope for dragging gear or pulling another machine out of trouble. Tie-down straps come into play once you're hauling the UTV itself.

How much can a UTV tow?

Towing capacity depends on the machine. Utility models are built to pull more than a sport-focused rig, and the number in your owner's manual is the one to trust. Terrain, passenger weight, and cargo in the bed all eat into that rating.

What size tow hitch does my UTV need?

Receiver size varies by make, model, and year, so measure your hitch opening or check the factory spec before ordering. We stock adjustable drop hitches in 2" and 2.5" receiver sizes. Use the Select Vehicle menu to narrow results to parts that fit your machine. Frame-mounted 2" receivers are also listed under UTV truck tow hitch.

What is the difference between a UTV tow strap and a recovery rope?

A tow strap has minimal stretch and works for a steady pull, like dragging a machine onto a trailer or down a two-track. A kinetic recovery rope stretches under load and snaps back, which helps free a UTV that's buried in mud or sand. Riders who run soft terrain often carry both.

What straps do I need to haul a UTV on a trailer?

Tire bonnet kits are the common pick because they strap over the tire and keep the load off your suspension. Ratchet straps and soft tie extensions work at frame tie-down points. Check the working load rating on any strap against your machine's weight before you load up. Ramps get the machine onto the deck in the first place, so check the load rating on your UTV ramps as well.

Do you carry UTV towing accessories for my make and model?

We stock towing and transport parts for Polaris, Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Arctic Cat, CFMoto, and more. Hitches, ropes, and straps are often universal, though mounting hardware and receiver plates can be model-specific.
