2025 Can-Am Maverick X3 Trail Build | PNW Setup by Fueled UTV
Every once in a while, a build comes through the shop with a very clear mission:
Be ready for anything. Have a backup for everything.
This 2025 Can-Am Maverick X3 started life bone stock and blacked out. The original plan? The customer was actually leaning toward a Maverick R. But after a conversation with our Service Manager Tanner about real-world PNW riding conditions, the direction shifted — and the build quickly snowballed into something far more serious.
What the customer wanted was simple on paper but ambitious in execution:
- Maximum trail capability
- Bulletproof durability
- True four-season comfort
- Redundancy everywhere
- And a look that absolutely stands out
What rolled out of the Fueled UTV build center is exactly that — a loud, fully custom red X3 that’s purpose-built for Pacific Northwest terrain.

From Black to Bold: The Custom Red Transformation
Here’s where this build really started to take shape.
The customer specifically wanted a red Maverick X3, but inventory reality had other plans. Rather than compromise, we took a clean black 2025 X3 and completely transformed it to what it is today.
We custom powder coated key components to match the customer’s vision, including:
- OEM roll cage
- All suspension components
- Inner fenders
- Nerf bars
- Tire carrier
Paired with a custom wrap from BHD Wraps, the result is a machine that looks cherry from every angle. It’s aggressive without being overdone — and it absolutely pops on the trail.
Ground Clearance & Grip Where It Matters
In the Pacific Northwest, traction and clearance are everything. Between slick trails, snow and ice, loose rock, and unpredictable mud, you need a tire that can do it all.
35” Maxxis Carnivores
We stepped this X3 up to 35x10-15 Maxxis Carnivores, a proven choice for aggressive trail riders who don’t want to sacrifice versatility.
Why they work so well for PNW riding:
- Excellent bite in mixed terrain
- Best snow tire on the market (Yep, we said it!)
- Predictable handling at speed
- Added ground clearance without going excessive
For this customer’s riding style, 35" Carnivores were a no-brainer.
Recovery Confidence Built In
If you ride deep into the Northwest backcountry, getting stuck isn’t a matter of if — it’s when. This customer made it clear early on: recovery capability was non-negotiable.
Warn Axon 45-S Winch + CT Race Worx Monster Bumper
Up front, we paired the Warn Axon 45-S winch with the CT Race Worx Full Protection Monster winch bumper. This setup keeps the winch protected while maintaining a super clean and tough look up front.
Reinforcing the X3: Suspension & Structural Upgrades
With bigger tires and serious trail miles ahead, we went deep into the suspension and chassis to eliminate weak points before they become problems.
CT Race Worx Heavy-Duty Package
This X3 received a full lineup of CT Race Worx Suspension components, including:
- CT Race Worx 72" X3 Boxed High Clearance Lower A-Arms
- CT Race Worx 72" X3 Boxed Upper A-Arms
- CT Race Worx 72" X3 Tier 1 High Clearance Radius Rods
- CT Race Worx 72" X3 Boxed Trailing Arms
- Bombproof Front Limit Straps
- Bombproof Combination Kit
- Rock Slider / Nerf Bars
This dramatically increases durability in rocky and technical terrain — exactly what PNW riders demand.

CA Technologies 300M Chromoly Ball Joints
To complement the reinforced suspension, we installed CA Tech heavy-duty 300M ball joints — one of the smartest reliability upgrades you can make when stepping up tire size and pushing the machine harder.
Ibexx P-Drive Crawler Clutch Kit + Drift Mod
Once the 35s went on, clutching became critical.
The Ibexx X3 P-Drive clutch kit paired with the drift mod improves:
- Low-speed control in technical trails
- Belt longevity
- Throttle predictability
- Overall trail drivability
For tight Northwest terrain, this upgrade makes a noticeable difference behind the wheel.
A True Four-Season Cab Setup
PNW riders know the weather rarely cooperates. This build was designed to keep the driver comfortable no matter the conditions or the season.
Custom Front Windshield with Wiper
We installed a custom windshield with integrated wiper, giving the driver clear visibility in rain, mud, and wet trail spray — a must-have for year-round riding.
Dirt Warrior Rear Windshield
Out back, the Dirt Warrior rear windshield helps control dust and airflow inside the cab, especially when paired with the heater. Dirt Warrior enclosures have quickly become on of our favorites!
Inferno Heater with Defrost
The Inferno cab heater transforms cold-weather rides completely. With integrated defrost, this setup keeps both the passengers warm and the windshield clear when temperatures drop.
Electrical System Built to Support It All
With this many accessories onboard, clean power management is critical.
Switch-Pros 12 Panel Power System
The Switch Pros Power System gives the driver centralized, reliable control over lighting, accessories, and future expansion. It keeps wiring clean and the dash uncluttered — exactly how we like to build them. If you've watched many of our videos, this is a must-have in our builds!

Full Throttle FT560 Battery + Fueled Hold Down Bracket
We upgraded the electrical backbone with the Full Throttle FT560, secured using custom Fueled UTV battery brackets for a clean and secure install that holds up to aggressive trail riding.
Baja Designs ONX6+ Shock Mount Light Bar
Lighting duties are handled by the Baja Designs ONX6+ 10" shock mount kit, delivering serious forward visibility while keeping the front end clean and functional. On the lighting front, we also added Sector Seven Sawtooth Lighted Mirrors to add additional light both up front and to the side for cornering.
Communication, Utility & Trail Readiness
This customer wanted a machine that could handle long days in remote terrain without relying on luck.
Key additions include:
-
Rugged Radios GMRS Complete Kit with AlphaBass headsets
- Thumper Fab phone dash mount
- ARB portable 12V air compressor
- Chupacabra B2G rear storage and tire rack
- AGM EXR auxiliary fuel tank (adds 8 gallons!)
- AGM manual jack system with weld-on points
- DRT ratcheting Y-strap for the spare tire
- AGM Revolve Jack Case

Every piece serves a purpose — and together they make this X3 incredibly self-sufficient on long trail days.
The Sound to Match the Look
To finish the build, we installed the Chupacabra Offroad exhaust with heat shield.
The result?
✔ Deep tone
✔ Aggressive note
✔ Zero doubt when this machine fires up. Head turner!
This was our first build using the Chupacabra X3 Exhaust, and we were extremely impressed. Incredible sound, but not overwhelming in the slightest.
Final Thoughts: Built for Real PNW Riding
This 2025 Maverick X3 is the perfect example of what happens when a customer prioritizes real-world usability over shortcuts. Equipped with everything. Prepared for anything. And it absolutely stands out in that custom red finish.
Most importantly — it’s built to be driven hard in the Pacific Northwest, exactly where machines like this belong.
