Once the vehicle is on, the starting battery automatically charges the 2nd battery, keeping your power reserves full and ready for your next adventure.

This system is quite simple: Key ON both batteries are connected to the Defender's power system, Key OFF the starting battery is isolated from the Defender's power system, only drawing power from the 55 amp battery.
