UTV Ball Joints Built Stronger Than Stock for Polaris, Can Am, and More

Ball joints connect your control arms to the knuckle, allowing the wheel to steer and the suspension to cycle while keeping everything tight. When they wear, you feel it before you see it. Vague steering, clunks over rough ground, and uneven tire wear are the usual signs. A worn joint can break under hard load, and running larger tires puts even more stress on the stock parts your vehicle came with. Replacing them before they fail restores smooth movement and keeps your ride predictable when the trail gets rough.

The ball joints in this collection are designed for exactly that kind of abuse. Keller Performance Products pioneered the threaded two-piece design, which presses into the A-arm and threads together so the joint cannot pull out the way OEM snap ring styles can. Keller joints are built from hardened 4340 chromoly steel, and they are adjustable, greaseable, and rebuildable, with rebuild kits available for Polaris, Can Am, and Honda models. SuperATV, ZBroz Racing, RCV Performance Products, CA Technologies, All Balls Racing, and Moose Utility Division round out the lineup with upper and lower options for Polaris, Can Am, Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki machines. Many use a steel-on-steel design with a grease zerk built in, which makes routine maintenance quick and helps the joint last longer than a sealed replacement. Match the material and strength rating to how you ride, and your suspension will hold up mile after mile.

FAQ

How do I know when my UTV ball joints are worn out?

Jack up the front end and grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock. Any play or clicking usually points to a worn ball joint. Loose steering, clunking, and uneven tire wear are other common signs it is time to replace them.

Why do riders choose Keller Performance Products ball joints?

Keller ball joints use a two-piece design that threads together instead of relying on a snap ring, so the joint stays put under big tires and hard riding. They are also rebuildable. When one finally wears out, you can install a rebuild kit with a new cup, boot, and heat-treated pin instead of buying a whole new joint, which saves money over time.

Are heavy duty ball joints worth it on a Can-Am or Polaris?

Yes, especially if you run larger tires or ride aggressively. Heavy duty ball joints use stronger materials than stock, including hardened chromoly steel, which means less flex, less slop, and a much lower chance of a break on the trail.

Do you carry ball joints for Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki UTVs?

We do. Along with Polaris and Can-Am coverage, this collection includes ball joints for the Honda Talon, Yamaha YXZ1000R and Wolverine RMAX, and Kawasaki Teryx, KRX 1000, and Mule models.

What is the difference between a ball joint and a heim joint?

A ball joint presses into the control arm and pivots inside a sealed or greaseable housing, which suits factory-style suspension. A heim joint threads onto a rod and locks in place with a jam nut, and it shows up more often on aftermarket radius rods and custom setups. Most UTV suspension repairs call for a ball joint.

Should I replace ball joints one at a time or as a set?

Replacing them as a set is the better call. If one upper or lower joint is worn, the others have seen the same miles and the same abuse. A full set keeps wear even across the suspension and saves you from doing the job twice. If you have fitment questions, give us a call, and we will point you to the right part.
