UTV Oil Catch Can Kits for Polaris RZR, Can-Am X3, and More
When boost pressure increases, so does crankcase pressure. On turbocharged UTVs, the stock crankcase vent routes directly into the intake tube, and as boost climbs, the increased airflow creates a straw effect that pulls oil vapor, moisture, and combustion byproducts into the charge tube, intercooler, and motor. The result is contaminated air, elevated knock risk, and over time, rod bearing failure. A UTV oil catch can sits between the factory crankcase vent and your intake, collects that oil before it reaches the charge circuit, and gives you a drain valve at the bottom for easy maintenance.
The Aftermarket Assassins RZR XP Turbo catch can is one of the strongest options for the Polaris RZR platform. Most off-the-shelf catch cans use NTP or other fittings with a very small ID and a very small air filter ID, which restricts flow and builds more crankcase pressure. The AA design uses a fully welded aluminum body with a 1" port matching your factory intake tube, an oil-baffled design to prevent oil from sloshing back out, and a large 2" air filter ID to keep flow open. Riders on extreme boost conditions or sustained WOT runs can step up to Version 3, which adds a pressure relief port off the valve cover for maximum pressure relief and protection of the crank and rod bearings.
Evolution Powersports covers the Pro XP and Turbo R platforms with an air/oil separator catch can kit built for those setups. RPM Powersports offers a fully chambered, all-aluminum catch can with an O-ring sealed drain valve, designed to mount directly to the bed using the factory crankcase breather.

FAQ
What does a UTV oil catch can actually do?
A UTV oil catch can intercept the factory crank case vent before it feeds back into the intake tube. It collects oil vapor, moisture, and other byproducts so they don't coat your charge tube, intercooler, or turbo compressor blades, and gives you a drain valve to empty the contents between rides.
Why do Polaris RZR turbo owners need an oil catch can?
On a Polaris RZR XP Turbo, when boost pressure increases, so does crankcase pressure. The stock crank case vent routes into the factory intake tube, and the increased airflow creates a straw effect that pulls oil directly into the intake. Running oil through your turbo and intercooler raises knock risk and can lead to rod bearing failure, especially during sustained WOT runs or when extremely aggressive riders hold it pinned for long periods.
What's the difference between the Aftermarket Assassins catch can versions for the RZR Turbo?
Version 1 is a regular catch can for setups running stock to 19 PSI of boost. You simply bolt it to the driver's side, run the factory crank case vent hose to the can, and attach the air filter. Version 3 adds a pressure relief port welded directly into the valve cover, providing extra boost pressure release with additional hose and clamps. It's the recommended setup for anyone running 23 PSI or higher, or for extremely aggressive riders who need maximum pressure relief to protect the crank and rod bearings.
How do Evolution Powersports and RPM Powersports catch cans compare to other options?
The Evolution Powersports air/oil separator catch can kit is built for the RZR Pro XP and Turbo R platforms and is a significant step up from shelf catch cans. RPM Powersports' fully chambered all-aluminum catch can uses a 12-AN fitting for a clean install and an o-ring sealed drain valve for leak-free maintenance. Both are built for forced induction applications and address the flow restrictions that other off-the-shelf cans create.
Is a UTV catch can hard to install?
No. Most UTV oil catch cans are designed for easy installation. The Aftermarket Assassins RZR XPT catch can, for example, includes the catch can with a drain valve, an air filter, mounting bolts, clamps, and a hose cap for the intake tube. If your setup requires a port welded into the valve cover for Version 3, that work can be done at a local shop, or you can purchase a pre-modified valve cover directly.
Can I run a catch can on a stock tune?
Yes. Catch cans are beneficial at any boost level, not just high boost applications. Even on a stock tune, the factory intake setup recirculates oil vapor back through the intake, which builds carbon on pistons and valves over time. Running a catch can from the start keeps your charge tube and intercooler cleaner and gives you a clearer picture of what your motor is actually producing.
What fitments does Fueled UTV carry for UTV oil catch cans?
Fueled UTV stocks oil catch cans for Polaris RZR XP Turbo (2016-2021), Polaris RZR Pro XP, Polaris RZR Pro R, Polaris Ranger and General 1000, Can-Am Maverick X3, Can-Am Defender, and Kawasaki Teryx H2, among others. Use the filter on the left to narrow by your make and model.
