MAC Air Helmet Pumper Systems for Desert Racing and Trail Riding
Dust is one of the biggest comfort problems in a UTV. Whether you're pushing through a desert racing course, running tight trails, or heading out to Baja for the weekend, a quality air pumper system changes the ride entirely. A helmet air pumper pulls filtered air through pumper hoses and delivers it directly inside your helmet, creating positive pressure that pushes dust out instead of letting it in. The result is clean air and reduced fogging, creating better comfort for every driver and passenger in the vehicle.
Fueled UTV stocks a full range of helmet pumper and air pumper systems built for real off-road use. Rugged Radios MAC Air pumper systems are the most popular option, built with an injection-molded ABS polymer housing optimized for high airflow and a dual-filter design with washable media. Bundles are available with a variable speed controller that lets you dial airflow from off to full blast. S&B's helmet pumper uses particle separator technology to remove 99.36% of dust without a filter, so airflow stays consistent from start to finish, and it comes standard with a variable speed controller. Bar mount hardware, flexible pumper hoses, and replacement parts are all in stock so you can build or upgrade a complete rugged pumper system to fit your UTV.

FAQ
What does a UTV air pumper system do?
A UTV air pumper system pulls outside air through a filter or particle separator and pushes it through pumper hoses directly into your helmet. The constant airflow keeps you cool, helps eliminate dust buildup inside the helmet, and reduces fogging on your visor during long rides.
What is the MAC Air helmet pumper and how does it work?
The Rugged Radios MAC Air is a high-output helmet pumper built for competition. It uses a dual filtering system, with an external pre-filter and an internal media filter, to maintain consistent airflow and prevent premature clogging. Both filters are washable, so you can clean them after race day and have the unit ready for the next event.
Does the MAC Air helmet pumper include a variable speed controller?
The MAC Air pumper-only unit does not include a variable speed controller. Rugged Radios bundles the VSC separately, and bundle packages are available that include the pumper plus the VSC, which lets you toggle between off, variable speed, and full blast modes. The S&B helmet pumper comes standard with a variable speed controller.
How do I mount a helmet air pumper in my UTV?
Most helmet pumper systems mount to your roll bar using half-clamp bar mounts available in most tubing sizes. The MAC Air is designed to mount this way, and Axia Alloys also makes a dedicated MAC Air bar mount pair that works with all generations of the pumper and allows adjustment up or down from center. Mount placement directly in front of the cage is typical for best airflow and access.
What is the difference between a 2-person and 4-person MAC Air pumper system?
The 2-person MAC Air supports two helmet connections, while the 4-person version handles up to four. If you're running a side-by-side with a full crew on longer desert or competition runs, the 4-person system keeps every driver and co-driver supplied with fresh air from the same unit.
How does the S&B helmet pumper differ from the MAC Air?
The S&B uses particle separator technology instead of a traditional filter. Vortexes spin the air and eject dust particles out through a scavenge fan, removing 99.36% of dust with no filter to clog. This means airflow stays consistent throughout the ride. The S&B also comes standard with a variable speed controller and has dual outlet ports for two helmets.
Will a helmet air pumper work with most helmets?
Most pumper hoses use a standard 1.5-inch ID hose connection. The S&B particle separator specifies 1.5-inch ID compatibility, and Rugged Radios pumper hoses are built to fit most full-face UTV and race helmets. Check your helmet's air inlet spec before purchasing if you're unsure.
